MS-Accelerated Community Track
罢丑别听Master of Science Degree in Nutrition – Accelerated Community Track (ACT) is a 30 semester hour, non-thesis program. The curriculum contains coursework providing the foundation of the science of nutrition, while emphasizing both theoretical concepts and practical application. Students will learn how to critically evaluate literature through an understanding of biostatistics and research methods. They will study the role of food and nutrition in human physiology, disease and well-being.听 Students in this program will also investigate the impact of food policy and how to administer a variety of nutrition education programs for groups and individuals.
The Master of Science – Accelerated Community Track (MS/ACT) is designed to be completed in a one-year time frame with a summer start. Students have the option to complete the program fully on-line and on a full or part-time basis.
The MS/ACT prepares students for career paths such as nutrition education with community food and nutrition programs, food security, non-profit work, the food system including local, organic and sustainability, food marketing and communication, and food policy and advocacy.
The MS/ACT听is also designed to broaden the knowledge base of current RDNs who would like flexibility in completing a Masters degree totally on-line if desired.
The MS/ACT听is also good for students who have already successfully completed the DPD curriculum with their undergraduate nutrition degree and are in search of an advanced degree that will enable them to gain experience hours in the field of nutrition to prepare for a Dietetic Internship.
