At Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹, computer science and math major Emma Brooks, ’24, found an environment where she could focus on learning without worrying about gender biases. Next she’ll earn a master’s in analytics to prepare for a career in data science.
Jean Hinton, ’25, discovered a passion for data science through her classes at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹. By designing her own major, she will be the first Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ student to earn a B.S. in statistical and data sciences.
As a student in Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹’s Dual Degree Engineering Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹, Amanda Webb, ’24, has built connections with students and faculty while strengthening her communication and problem-solving skills.
Mei Li Moo King, ’23, is a planner with an aptitude for mathematics. As an international student at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹, she found opportunities to explore her interests and, with minors in statistics and data science, accepted a position after graduation at Credit Suisse as a risk analyst.
Mathematics and psychology major Rayna Maleki, ’23, came to Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ thinking she’d study engineering. Instead, with the support of several faculty mentors, she fell in love with math and research. After graduation, she’ll go to Clemson University to earn her M.S. in mathematical sciences.
Personal interaction with faculty helped international student Mwende Mumo, ’23, identify the right majors that would capitalize on her math and problem-solving strengths. With her majors in mathematics and economics, she is well-prepared for her future career in data science.
